Colorado Renaissance Faire!

The family finally made it to Larkspur for what is becoming an annual trip to the Colorado Renaissance Faire. The kids were disappointed that we didn't dress up in any of the elaborate costumes like so many of the other participants, but for our next visit we plan on being a "playtron" and getting into the act. I plan on loading more pictures of some of the singers, belly dancers, swordsmen, craftsmen, jugglers, jesters, merchants, peasants and all the wonderful food and of course beer! Don't forget the final act of the fair which is the jousting battle between rival knights trying to impress the King and his court!

Swords, Beer and Art

Some of my favorite things at the fair.

These are all hand crafted on site.

Beer and a smile!

Archery, Elephant Rides & Pottery

You can find many fine hand crafted items.

Try to see if you can get a "Robin Hood"

Kids love riding these gentle giants!

Belly Dancers and Catapult

The Celestial Stage is where belly dancers perform

Some of these ladies could use a tan.

Most of the shows had large audiences.

A look down the main strip with vendors on all sides.

This is the catapult used in the movie "Scorpion King"

Getting There

Getting to the fair is easy, it is located approximately 30 minutes south of Denver and 45 minutes North of Colorado Springs.

Going south on I-25 it is exit 173, I like this picture because it looks like the exit is a dirt one, the real exit is just ahead and then it is well marked how to get there.
